Obsessed: “No Makeup” Makeup!

Sweat pants, hair tied, chilling with no makeup on.

Before I go on, allow me to remind you why makeup great: you can do whatever the hell you want with it. Like Wayne Goss always say’s- it’s just makeup! The “look” right now is definitely super glam or super “glossier“, the natural but dewy look. I have been hooked on both ends of the spectrum but i’ve been loving the idea of a faster makeup routine that also still lets me look like… me. Makeup artists would call this look the “no makeup” look, but I call it genius. Here are my go to products for achieving that super natural and dewy look:

  1. MAC Cosmetics Face & Body Foundation. This foundation is super light, and provides a sheer but put together finish. It can be built up to provide medium coverage if desired while still having a very natural appearance. It also lasts all day because it is waterproof- making it a cult classic to use as a base for bridal makeup. This will not entirely hide your blemishes, freckles, or your scars but that’s okay with me. I like that it easily blends away redness or patchiness while providing a “natural” finish that is dewy- but not shiny. It looks like my skin, but better! I’ve been skipping the contour, no need for this look. By the way, skip the beauty blender. This is best applied with clean fingertips!
  2. NYX Tinted Eyebrow Gel. This is a gem. Super affordable and gives a sheer tint to your eyebrows without making them seem overly “fake”. The right amount of color and perfect for a “clean” brow look! This might not be the best product for people who have very thin/sparse brows. I sometimes use an eyebrow pencil if I need to fill in any sparse areas before going over them with this eyebrow gel.
  3. NARS Dual Intensity Blush. First of all, let me say that anything from NARS is amazing. I love their entire product line and I love that many of their products allows for your skin and natural beauty to still shine through. This particular blush (“frenzy”, pictured) is the perfect combination for a flushed and luminous look. It includes a peachy shade that is extremely buildable  to add dimension to any face, and a great champagne-gold shimmer to add the right amount of highlight to the face and body. If I could only have one blush product for the rest of eternity, it would be this one. Love, love, love.
  4. Evian Brumisateur Facial Spray. This one is a no brainer. It’s portable mineral water that you can mist over your make up to set it and whenever else needed in order to keep your makeup fresh, all day. There are so many other uses for this product, but using it to refresh my makeup and as a makeup setting spray is probably one of my favorite ways to use it!

I like to finish this “no-makeup” look with a swipe of tinted gloss and a coat of my favorite mascara. It’s so easy and hassle free but still really beautiful and put together. Since this look is so “basic” (but pretty), you can easily build up your evening look on top of it without any hassle! Are you willing to try the “no makeup”  trend? What are you favorite products for the “no makeup” look?
